Sir Michael Hintze honoured by Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC)

Sir Michael Hintze has been awarded the role of Senior Vice Patron by the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC), in recognition of his support for the organisation over the past eight years.

Speaking of the appointment, RNRMC Chairman Bill Thomas noted: “The charity has no better friend than Sir Michael and we are delighted that he has accepted our invitation to serve."

In its announcement of Sir Michael’s new role, the RNRMC added that his “leadership and example have been crucial in attracting philanthropic donations to assist the work of the charity. His loyalty, the momentum that his support has generated, and the generosity of the Hintze Family Foundation, has enabled the RNRMC in its mission to support sailors, marines and their families, for life.”

Sir Michael welcomed his appointment to the new role, saying: “The RNRMC does great work and I feel immensely proud to have been offered this role in support of those who give so much to our nation. It is a privilege to be able to serve the men and women the RNRMC represents and I will do my very best to honour this great institution. There is much more to do.”

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity is one of a number of charitable and philanthropic interests that Sir Michael Hintze supports. His philanthropic organisation, the Hintze Family Foundation, has supported over 200 charities since its inception in 2005.
